Description

Bhut Jolokia, also known as Ghost Pepper or Raja Mirchi, is one of the spiciest chillies in the world. Originating from Northeast India, especially Assam, Nagaland, and Manipur, this fiery chilli is famous for its intense heat and smoky flavour. It is used in spicy pickles, sauces, and powders, and even as a natural pest repellent. Bhut Jolokia grows well in hot climates and can be cultivated in pots or open soil across India with proper care.

How to Sow

Sow seeds in a nursery tray or seedbed and transplant after 25 to 30 days. Requires rich, well-drained soil and full sunlight. Maintain 1.5 to 2 feet spacing between plants. Water moderately and avoid overwatering.

Harvest Timeline

Germination starts in 10 to 20 days. Chillies can be harvested in 100 to 120 days. Pick when fruits turn bright red or deep orange for maximum heat and flavour.
